... Pays Accolades to Past Governors for their contributions to the Airport
Oku Ibom Ibibio and President General of Akwa Ibom State Supreme Council of Traditional Rulers, His Eminence, Ntenyin (Dr.) Solomon Daniel Etuk, CFR, has applauded Governor Umo Eno for the successful maiden international flight at the Victor Attah Int'l Airport, Uyo.
Ntenyin Etuk said Governor Eno has done exceptionally well in ensuring the realization of the international status of the airport through infrastructural upgrade, provision of basic facilities and sustainability of Ibom Air.
He further gave kudos to the Governor for the newly completed Smart Terminal Building at Victor Attah International Airport, a facility widely regarded by aviation experts as one of the most technologically advanced airport terminals in Nigeria.

The Patriarch of the Ibibios worldwide, who spoke at the Victor Attah International Airport after the return trip of the flight from Ghana to Uyo on Sunday, said the inauguration of international operations at the airport was a dream come true for the state.
He paid accolades to Obong Victor Attah, who initiated the airport project; Chief Godswill Akpabio who followed up with the initiative and ensured the commencement of flight operations; Mr. Udom Emmanuel, who advanced the development of the airport and inaugurated the state-owned Ibom Air.

The monarch noted that former governors offered impactful leadership and individually contributed their own quotas in the development of the airport.
He said, "I am therefore very happy with Governor Umo Eno,Ph.D, for his utmost commitment towards completing the airport project and actualising its international status as witnessed by this inaugural international flight to Accra, Ghana."

"We are grateful to God that we have a Governor who has taste for something good and unique. I am so excited on this attainment. As His Excellency told me, so he has done.
"When I tell the world how proud I am about Governor Umo Eno's performance , it may be viewed that because he is my son. But when we all look at his achievements in three years, the records marvelous. By the time, he finishes the fourth year and then another term of four years, the performance will speak louder," he added.
Oku Ibom Ibibio further said that the Victor Attah Int'l Airport as a world-class transit hub, will go a long way to promote tourism, attract visitors from all parts of the globe and therefore boost businesses in Akwa Ibom State.
