In continuation of her quest to win the race for the Ikono/Ini federal constituency seat in 2023, the immediate past Honourable Commissioner for Agriculture and frontline aspirant in the election, Dr. Glory Edet has consulted an elder statesman of the area, retired Air Vice Marshall Samuel Akpasa, on Saturday, March 26, at Nkwot Etok, Mbiabong, Ini LGA.
Addressing the retired AVM, Dr. Edet applauded him for his meritorious service to the country and for his contributions to the growth of Ini LGA. In addition to soliciting the support of the ex-serviceman for her ambition, Dr. Edet also noted that her visit was in demonstration of her deep-rooted respect for the veteran.

She added that as an experienced aspirant with vast knowledge in governance, she will deploy her experience and skills for the benefit of the federal constituency.
The Ini MPM Coordinator assured the retired AVM that Ikono/Ini will witness effective representation never before seen if she is given the mandate of the people especially in the areas of human capacity development, skills acquisitions, wealth creation and numerous life-touching programmes.

In his response, AVM Akpasa described Dr. Edet as a thoroughbred grassroots politician and an experienced personality. He said that the immediate past Honourable Commissioner has all it takes to effectively represent Ikono/Ini in the Federal House of Representatives and added that she has paid her dues and is 'a marketable material'. He afterwards prayed for the leading contender and gave his blessings.
