13th Month Salary & Gratuities: RTEAN Thanks Gov Eno & Congratulates Deputy Speaker, Bob

 




The Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria (RTEAN), Akwa Ibom State Chapter, has expressed its gratitude and admiration for Governor Umo Eno's compassionate leadership and generosity in approving the 13th Month Salary bonus, fittingly dubbed "Eno-mber" for civil servants. 


In addition to this remarkable gesture, the Governor is also making progress on paying outstanding pension and gratuity arrears owed to retirees, which is seen as a great sign of respect and concern for the well-being of the people of Akwa Ibom. This remarkable action has earned the Governor great respect and acclaim from individuals and organizations within and outside the State.


Responding to the development, the State Chairman of RTEAN, Comrade Godwin Christopher Edem, said the Governor's magnanimity will help in cushioning the excruciating effects of fuel subsidy removal on the workers and retirees.


Speaking to a group of journalists and netizens in Uyo, the state capital, on Friday, Comrade Edem described the actions of the Umo Eno-led government as unprecedented. He disclosed that members of RTEAN in Akwa Ibom had committed to becoming ARISE Ambassadors," spreading the 'gospel' about the Governor's accomplishments to the public. 


He emphasized that the Association would continue to advocate for the government's initiatives and encourage the people of Akwa Ibom to support the ARISE agenda.


"Gentlemen of the press, please permit me to say that these magnanimous acts are indeed historic and thoughtful and I would like to add that, this display of passion and commitment can only be shown by a leader who is altruistic and to the glory of God, His Excellency, Pastor Umo Bassey Eno is such a leader," Edem noted.


Continuing, the State RTEAN boss opined that the action of the Akwa Ibom State government should be applauded by all well meaning Akwa Ibomites while also restated his Association's continued support for the projects and programmes of Governor Eno in the transportation sub-sector.


Comrade Godwin Edem also used the occasion to applaud Rt. Hon. KufreAbasi Edidem, the Deputy Speaker and member representing Itu in the State House of Assembly, for his dedication and hard work since assumption of office.


The RTEAN boss, who hails from Ikot Ekwere Itam in Itu LGA, observed that Edidem has earned the respect of the forward-thinking people of the area for his efforts in attracting innumerable projects of Government that have benefited Itu, reiterating his and the RTEAN's determination to assist him in any way possible.


In the same vein, the Road Transport boss has also applauded the Deputy Leader of the House of Assembly and Chairman, House Committee on Works and Transport; Rt. Hon. (Barr) Otobong Effiong Bob, for his outstanding leadership since taking over the Transport committee. 


Edem, who went on to extol the leadership prowess of the Nsit Ubium representative, expressed confidence that the Law luminary-cum politician will excel in its oversight function. 


He hinted that the entire stakeholders in the Transport subsector under RTEAN have unanimously agreed to partner the the State Legislature in the transformation and reformation of the sector in line with the Governor Umo Eno's ARISE Agenda.
