As messages of goodwill continue to pour in for Governor Umo Eno on his recent achievement of a Doctorate in Public Administration from the University of Uyo, former Executive Chairman of Etim Ekpo Local Government Council, Rt. Hon. (Obongemem) Imeh Afia, has commended the Governor’s dedication to learning, calling it an inspiring demonstration of true leadership.
In a goodwill message personally signed on behalf of his family and supporters, Afia expressed admiration for the Governor’s commitment to education, describing it as a shining example for all sons and daughters of Akwa Ibom who strive for excellence.
He noted that Gov. Eno’s pursuit of academic growth while in office exemplifies resilience and dedication to self-improvement, traits that set him apart as a leader.
Part of the message read: “Your Excellency, my Leader, it was Malcolm X who said, “Education is the passport to the future, for tomorrow belongs to those who prepare for it today.” This exceptional attainment of a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Public Administration from the University of Uyo is a milestone that speaks to your lifelong dedication to learning and growth. This accomplishment serves as an inspiring example, showing that leadership is firmly rooted in personal development and commitment to service.”
Obongemem Afia specifically eulogized Gov. Eno for dedicating this academic achievement to the memory of his late wife, Pastor (Mrs.) Patience Umo Eno, describing the tribute as eloquent prove to the Governor’s respect and enduring love. He noted that this gesture shows the Governor’s character and the strength of his values, which continue to be loved by Akwa Ibomites whom he lead with fear of God
The former council boss however, used the occasion to reiterate his support to programmes and policies of Governor Eno as encapsulated in the ARISE Agenda.
