IPMAN Not Aware of Action, Plan of Fuel Crisis in Akwa Ibom says Udofia

In response to widespread speculations of an impending fuel crisis in Akwa Ibom State starting Sunday, December 1, the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) has dismissed the claims as baseless and unfounded.

Addressing the issue through a public notice issued on Friday, November 29, 2024, the National Ex-officio of IPMAN, Michael Udofia, reassured residents of the state of the association’s commitment to ensuring uninterrupted fuel supply.

He emphasized that IPMAN is not aware of any planned disruption in the supply chain or activities that could result in fuel scarcity.

“Our attention has been drawn to reports suggesting a potential fuel crisis in Akwa Ibom State. As a responsible stakeholder and National Ex-officio of IPMAN, I wish to clarify that IPMAN is not aware of any such plans or actions that could lead to a disruption in fuel supply,” Udofia stated in the public notice.

He further hinted that petroleum marketers in the state remain dedicated to serving the public and called on residents to disregard any unverified information about a looming crisis.

Udofia however, urged calm among all and sundry while reaffirming IPMAN’s commitment to meeting the energy needs of Akwa Ibom residents.

"We encourage the public to disregard any unverified information and remain calm as we continue to prioritize their needs," he concluded.
